A Guide to Darts Nights in the Rhondda Valleys

If you're after a proper darts night in the Rhondda, somewhere with real competition, a few quid on the board, and no faff getting signed up, you don't need to look far. Clwb Emrys runs three nights a week across the valleys, and between them you've got a night close to home no matter which end of the Rhondda you're in.

Here's everything you need to know about where to play, when, and what to expect.

Monday: Broadway Social, Pontypridd

Kicking the week off, Broadway Social in Pontypridd hosts our Monday night, capped at 30 players. It's one of the bigger fields on the circuit, which makes for a proper mixed bag of standard, you'll get your regulars who've been playing for years alongside newer faces working their way up the rankings.

Since Circuit 2.0 launched, Broadway's opening night set the tone early, George Humphreys took the win, adding to a season where he'd already topped the Circuit 1.0 leaderboard and won Finals Day at The Baden. If you're playing Monday nights at Broadway, you're playing against serious form.

Wednesday: The White Dragon, Treorchy

Wednesday night belongs to The White Dragon in Treorchy, a tighter field of 24 players, but no less competitive for it. The opening night of Circuit 2.0 here produced one of the standout individual performances of the season so far from Lee Hughes, setting an early bar for the rest of the venue's regulars to chase.

Treorchy's a good shout if you want a slightly smaller, sharper field, fewer players means more games per head over a season, and a clearer run at the venue leaderboard.

Thursday: The Baden, Porth

Rounding off the week, Thursday nights at The Baden in Porth run the biggest field on the circuit, 36 players, the most of any Clwb Emrys venue. It's also the venue with the most history: The Baden hosted Circuit 1.0's Finals Day, where George Humphreys beat Mark Burton to take the overall title after a season of topping the leaderboard.

With a bigger field and that pedigree behind it, Thursdays at The Baden tend to draw a real cross-section of the valley's darts community, well worth a night if you want to see the circuit at its fullest.

How it all connects

Every result from all three nights feeds into the same overall Clwb Emrys leaderboard, so you're not just playing for that night's prize money, you're building a season-long ranking regardless of which venue you call home. Play one as your regular, or turn up to all three across the week and stack up points wherever you can get a game.

Every night runs on an entry fee with cash prizes for the top finishers, and it's all tracked through Darts Atlas, so you can check where you sit on the rankings at any time.
